In my earlier article i have given a simple introduction on big data. In this article i am going to discuss about the real time applications where big data analysis is being used so that you can get much more clear idea about big data!!
A month back in India,it was a festival of democracy which is considered to be the largest election in the world. Before and after election almost all the media in India conducted a great election survey and predicted the winner by collecting the information from large sample. For example if the sample is collected from some 1 lak people, it can be easily analysed. But the samples would be collected in large figure such as crores and crores. So it would not be possible to process it with the traditional available tools. To process such large volume of data Big data analysis tool was used!!
Every year in Tamil Nadu, the number of students writing the board exam is getting increased. Earlier when the number was small, the pass percentage and all other details were easily obtained. Since the number is quite large in number, to process and get certain information Big data analysis tools is being used.!
Applications of Big data analysis tool in social networking sites such as facebook,twitter is quite more i would say. To calculate the number of post that is being posted under single hash tag is calculated using the big data analysis tools. During the IPL, the number of tweets made using the #ipl live counter would be displayed. This is done using the big data analysis tool.
These are some of the real time applications where big data analysis is being used.!!
