In my earlier post I have shared my view on content and style of writing a research article or a research paper. In this post I am going to discuss about The Language and Ethics in Writing the research article.
Language is one of the key factor of a the research article. Things that has to be taken care or the thing which a research scholar should have in the mind while writing a research article are
Language
1. English is a global language which generally connects research scholars from different region of the world. Hence I recommend the research scholars to publish their paper in English.
2. Care about the sense and not the tense. Let the tense doesn't change the context of the research.
3. Use Simple, Plain and globally accepted words to describe the research work.
4. Interpret the mathematical formula, Graph and tabular column in simple language such a way that reader can understand easily
5. Let the type of English you follow in the paper be the same throughout the paper. If you have decided to follow British English, Kindly follow the same throughout the paper.
Ethics
Research scholar has to follow certain ethic while writing a research article. The most important ethics which a research scholar has to follow are
1. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited while writing a research article. Both content and concept plagiarism should be strictly avoided while writing a research paper.
2. Do not copy paste text from any published paper or from a website without citing it properly, exemption can be given for universal facts.
3. Do not write a research article based upon some other research scholar's idea.
4. Do not write a research article without performing proper experiment or implementation (For Writing Implementation paper). Without implementation, you write a survey paper or proposal paper.
5. Do not comment or criticize other research work without proper analysis.
6. Do not writing false fact or information in paper and mislead the future research scholar.
7. Do not send single paper to multiple journal or multiple conference. If your paper is under review, do not send that paper to any other conference or journal.
8. If you are not involved in the research work, do not claim for authorship of the paper.
9. Do not claim yourself as 1st author of the paper, if you do not perform 80% of the research work,
10. Do not publish the other's paper without proper written proof from that concern person.
The above 10 points are the common ethics which a research scholar has to follow to make the research activities a wonderful experience.
